Sources: Corina Cretu, confirmed by Juncker for the Regional Policy portfolio

PSD MEP Corina Cretu was confirmed by the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, as Romania’s proposal for the position of Commissioner, to the detriment of the current Agriculture Commissioner, Dacian Ciolos.

The information has been released by Gandul daily quoting sources in Brussels, according to whom Cretu would receive the Regional Policy portfolio, a very important portfolio, for which Cretu has no experience. Cretu will supposedly be managing the cohesion policy and European funds.

Dacian Ciolos, the Romanian Commissioner who has managed the European portfolio with the largest budget, respectively Agriculture, is now out of books for the future European executive.
