The Ministry of Public Finance: Private Virtual Space’ app for online communication with taxpayers

The Ministry of Public Finance (MFP) was launched this Monday, beginning with 14:00 p.m., the ‘Private Virtual Space’ application that allows taxpayers to communicate online with the tax administration agency.
Attending the launch of the application at the seat of the Ministry of Public Finance will be Prime Minister Victor Ponta and Minister of Public Finance Ioana-Maria Petrescu.
The ‘Private Virtual Space’ application is released as part of a set of measures promoted by MFP and the National Tax Administration Agency (ANAF) with a view to improving the taxpayer’s relationship with the administration by streamlining the tax return statement and the payment of tax liabilities.
In this context, the Finance Ministry promoted the Government’s Emergency Ordinance No. 40/2014 published in the Official Journal on June 23, 2014, which sets the premises in place for setting the taxpayer in electronic communication with the tax authorities.
Beginning with July 1, 2014, the forms for the annual notices of assessment for individuals and the social health insurance contributions owed by them also include a series of information to facilitate the payment of tax liabilities.
Thus, every notice of assessment includes the following info: the tax identification code, the budget revenue account where the due amount needs to be transferred, the IBAN of the account to which the payment must be effected, the amount owed by the taxpayer and an explanation box. The notice of assessment also comprises information on the accepted payment methods.
