European Commissioner for Regional Policies, will be heard next Monday by the Committees on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Senate. ‘It’s customary among the European countries for the prime minister and the president of the European Commission to hold private talks in advance, based on which the prime minister makes several nominations, because generally a single proposal is not enough, considering that the commissioner should fall into a quite complicated regime, as the balance and proportionality criteria should be respected as regards the political groups, the political families, the Commission president and also a gender balance,’ Senate Chair Calin Popescu Tariceanu said.
Corina Cretu will be in charge of the Regional Policy portfolio in the next European Commission, according to the announcement made on September 10 by President-elect of the Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker.
