Topoloveni plum jam at the international exhibition World Food Moscow

Romania has been represented at theinternational exhibition World FoodMoscow by the Topoloveni plum jam, theonly product benefiting from Europeanfunds for its promotion on non-EU markets,Romanian producer, SonimpexTopoloveni, informed on Monday.‘The Topoloveni plum jam has successfullyparticipated in the international exhibitionWorld Food Moscow, hosted by the capitalcity of the Russian Federation. The plumjam produced by Sonimpex Topoloveni hasthus represented Romania in one of thebiggest events in the world devoted to foodindustry, as part of the programme ‘Eureka:Discover Europe’s Treasures!’. TheTopoloveni plum jam is the only productbenefiting from European funds for its promotionon non-EU markets, as it is the onlyproduct recognized by the EU for quality,traditional feature and uniqueness, throughthe granting of the Protected GeographicalIndication,’ reads a company’s release. Theproducer’s CEO Bibiana Stanciulov saidthat the Topoloveni plum jam is obtainedaccording to a recipe from 1914. ‘We haveinternationalized the product by using thename of ‘magiun’ [plum jam] in any language,’said Bibiana Stanciulov. TheRomanian producer has accessed two EUfundedpromotion programmes, each withduration of three years. Thus, between 2013and 2016, the Topoloveni plum jam will bepromoted in Russia, Switzerland, Norway,Middle East and North America. TheTopoloveni plum jam is a Romanian product100% natural, with no sugar added,without preservatives and gluten free. Theproducer is Supplier to the Royal House ofRomania, multiple winner of ‘SuperiorTaste Award’ from the Taste and QualityInstitute in Brussels and Ambassador of the‘Romanian Traditional Taste.’
