EC accepts General Transport Master Plan

The European Commission has accepted that the General Transport Master Plan be made available for public debate, The document being scheduled to be presented during the meeting of the joint Transport Committees of the Parliament after October 1, Transport Ministry informs.
According to the quoted source, the officials of the  Management Authorities for the Operational Programme Transport 2007-2013 (AM POST) met with European Commission representatives from September 16 to September 18 to analyse the final, revised version of the Report on the General Transport Master Plan on a  short, medium and long term. At the meeting, the Commission accepted that the document be made available for public debate.
Before public meetings are organised, EC officials recommended to AM POST to take measures such as improvement of the methodology for the preparation of the Master Plan by adding alternative scenarios for the testing of transport projects, to include selection criteria of economic performance, belonging to the TEN-T Core network and environmental criteria.
The General Transport Master Plan will be made public on October 1, 2014, when it is scheduled for presentation before the joint Transport Committees of the Parliament.
