Race and march against breast cancer

With 1,000 breast prostheses offered, over 12,000 participants in the last 4 years and over 115 participating companies, the Casiopeea Association is continuing this year too its mission to support Romanian women diagnosed with breast cancer and to give them back the hope for a new life through breast prostheses donations. On Sunday over 2,000 people wearing pink t-shirts took part in the race and march against breast cancer in Tineretului Park.
The sums obtained from participations are used exclusively for the purchase of breast prostheses that will go to some of the women that underwent mastectomy surgeries. The waiting lists are long and we want to cover them all, that is why we invite families, companies, children and adults alike to walk or run on Sunday alongside the 2,000 persons that have signed up so far.
The organizers had a lot of surprises in store for the participants, dances, songs, competitions, prizes and a lot of positive energy, as well as meetings with the stars that are friends of Casiopeea. All participants received pink t-shirts and each of the ladies received a free voucher for breast ecography or mammography. Let us not forget that regular mammographies represent the most efficient method of prevention against breast cancer and Romania is on the last place in the EU when it comes to cancer screening.
