EximBank climbed seven places and is 31st in the Top 100 Banks in South-East Europe rankings ordered by the profit registered last year, according to the annual rankings compiled by the SeeNews press agency.
At regional level, 70 of the 100 banks included in the table reported a profit for 2013, however the losses registered by some of the big regional players, especially those registered by players from Slovenia, have led to an overall negative result of EUR 2.18 bln, according to SeeNews.
EximBank is a specialized institution whose portfolio allows it to support the activity and development of exporters, SMEs and company engaged in projects of top priority for economic development, especially those that contribute to the absorption of European funds.
EximBank registered a net profit of approximately RON 32 M in H1 of 2014, 29 per cent higher than in the first six months of the previous year. The volume of new exposures offered totaled approximately RON 475 M in the first six months of this year, 90 per cent of which were oriented towards the financing of companies. The bank’s net credits portfolio grew by 24 per cent compared to the end of 2013, and the bank’s assets by RON 244 M.
