IATA promotes freight terminal al Mihal Kogalniceanu International Airport

The newest investment of the Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport National Society (southeast Romania), the freight terminal, is included as of this month in the permanent offer of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) Manual for rates and air-cargo destinations.
Managing Director of Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport, Cristian Moldovanu told AGERPRES on Wednesday that following Turkish Airlines’ launch of air parcel services, in both directions (inbound-outbound), Istanbul – Constanta – Varna – Istanbul, with a frequency of four flights a week, IATA has decided to reintroduce the Constanta-based airport in the international repertoire of relevant services.
“After 25 years, Mihail Kogalniceanu International Airport makes a comeback on the market of parcel and freight delivery, falling in the development tendencies of a modern and efficient airport system, a genuine multi-modal transportation center. And this became possible after we have recently completed the investment of over 527,000 lei (pre-VAT) from our own funds, in the construction of the first cargo terminal of this airport, with a capacity of 2,500 cubic meters. Moreover, I want to inform you that over 40 Romanian and foreign companies have expressed interest in this kind of services,” Cristian Moldovanu said.
