Bucharest Court admits PNL-PDL merger

The Bucharest Court has admitted on Monday the request concerning the merger between the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Democrat Liberal Party (PDL), the new party formed set to be called PNL. “It orders the registration of the new political party resulted from the merger, bearing the name the National Liberal Party,” the Bucharest Court decision reads. The same decision also ordered the erasure of the two political parties that have merged, namely PDL and PNL, from the Special Registry. The court’s decision can be attacked within 10 days. The merger process between PNL and PDL was postponed several times, one of the reasons for that being the fact that the court had to first judge the merger between PDL and the Civic Force Party. PDL and PNL filed their merger documents at the Bucharest Court on August 5.
