Uptake rate of EU funds will exceed 40% in October

Minister of European Funds Eugen Teodorovici estimates that the current uptake rate of EU funds will exceed 40% in October, from 38.46% at end-September.
‘I estimate that in October the current uptake rate will exceed 40%, due to the fact that this month we will demand that the European Commission repay a sum of some one billion euros. At end-September, the current uptake rate was 38.46%, with the payment applications sent to the Commission standing at over 7.38 billion euros,’ Minister  Teodorovici told Agerpres.
According to him, Romania has received over two billion euros from Brussels this year.
‘Romania has received this year over two billion euros from the European Commission, more than in any of the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Also, the sum received in the first nine months of this year is higher than that received in the same period of 2013,’ Teodorovici added.
