Romania’s industrial output advanced 7.6 percent year-on-year over the first eight months of 2014, as a raw series; the figure for the series adjusted for working days and seasonality was 9 percent, according to data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
On main industry groups, capital goods declined 33.5 percent; non-durable consumer goods also went down 14 percent, intermediate goods 13.8 percent, and durable consumer goods 4.4 percent. The energy industry grew 0.7 percent.
The raw series industrial output advanced owing to the processing industry (9 percent up) and extraction industry (0,8 percent up), while the production and supply of electricity, heating, natural gas, hot water and air conditioning went down 3 percent.
