Romania has fastest internet speed in Europe

Romania has the fastest internet speed in Europe and the third-fastest in the world, based on rankings recently published by Bloomberg and quoted by ZF. The only states with higher speeds are Hong Kong and Japan.
Romania has climbed from the fifth position it held in the first half of the year. In Romania the average internet speed of 47.9 megabytes per second is 160 per cent higher than the global average of 18.4 megabytes per second.
Romania is followed by South Korea, Latvia, Singapore, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Netherlands and Belgium.
Romania is also first in the global rankings based on the percentage of hotels that offer free WiFi internet access, with a score of 99 per cent, similar to Vietnam’s. Only Poland and Slovakia are the other European states present in Top 10.
