Three new border crossing points on Serbia

Three new border crossing points will be opened on the border with Serbia by the end of the year, Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea announced on Tuesday at a meeting with his Serbian counterpart Nebojsa Stefanovic, the Internal Affairs Ministry (MAI) informs. Oprea pointed out that the Romanian Government will approve the setting up of three border crossing points on the border with Serbia, in the Valcani, Lunga and Foeni localities. The border crossing points will be operational by the end of this year. The meeting with his Serbian counterpart also tackled “issues on the bilateral agenda in the internal affairs domain, with the emphasis on cooperating in combating cross-border organized crime, securing borders and combating illegal migration,” MAI informs. During the meeting Gabriel Oprea reaffirmed the fact that Romania supports Serbia in its process of joining the European Union.
