Former general manager of CFR Mihai Necolaiciuc was given this Friday an effective prison sentence of four years and six months, in the file targeting the EUR 2.7 million-fraud caused by purchasing goods in an infrastructure rehabilitation project destined to repair damages caused by the floods of the year 2000.
The Appeal Court of Bucharest approved the appeal filed by the prosecutors and convicted Mihai Necolaiciuc to four years and six months for the embezzlement of credit guaranteed by public funds or due to be paid by public funds. Moreover, judges prohibited Nicolaiciuc certain civil rights for five years.
In the same file, Viorica Olaeru, former manager of the Economic Department of the company CFR was sentenced to three years of effective prison, for the same felony.
The verdict is definitive.
There are other trials as well on Necolaiciuc’s name. He is prosecuted in other three criminal files of abuse of office, corruption and fraud.
