AEP: Over 830,000 eur declared donations for political parties

The donations received and declared by the political parties, political and pre-election alliances and independent candidates in the campaign for the election of Romania’s president totaled 3,661,623 lei as of Oct. 16, the Standing Election Authority (AEP)  said in a release to AGERPRES on Monday.
According to it, the highest amount was received by that date by the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL, made up of the Liberals and Democratic Liberals) at 1,532,723 lei; ranking next was the Electoral Alliance of the Social Democrats, Conservatives and the National Union for the Progress of Romania (PSD-UNPR-PC) at 1,144,990 lei, the People’s Movement Party (PMP) 455,500 lei, the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) 16,950 lei, Dan Diaconescu – People’s Party (PP-DD) 7,482 lei and the Greater Romania Party (PRM) 1,393 lei.
The received donations total 3,159,039 lei.
As for the independent candidates, the highest donation was got by Calin Popescu – Tariceanu – 261,912 lei, followed by Teodor Melescanu – 164,900 lei, Monica Macovei – 73,272 lei and Gheorghe Funar – 2,500 lei.
The donations received and declared by the independent candidates amount to 502,584 lei.
