Bucharest airports to have 8 M passengers in 2014

In September, the Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB) recorded an air traffic of 829,396 passengers, higher by almost 9 per cent than in the same month of the previous years. With this monthly traffic growth rate, Bucharest airports have a good chance to record almost 10 M passengers soon.
In the first nine months of the year, the air traffic on the two airports Bucharest has went up by 7.7 per cent, to 6.31 M passengers, CNAB announces, estimating a traffic up from 7.6 to 8 M passengers for the entire year.
‘The evolution of the number of passengers on the two airports of the Bucharest Airports National Company is notably ahead of the general European trend. Bucharest airport have also seen an increase in the number of aircraft moves, also above European trend’, CNAB states in a release.
A total of 37 air carriers currently operate on the ‘Henri Coanda’ Bucharest Airport, flying to 87 destinations.
CNAB operates under the authority of the Ministry of Transport and provides the operating coordination and management for the two Bucharest airports – Otopeni and Baneasa.
