‘Microsoft’ case: Dorin Cocos, Nicolae Dumitru, Gheorghe Stefan and Gabriel Sandu held in preventive detention

Magistrates of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) on Wednesday morning decided to hold businessmen Nicolae Dumitru and Dorin Cocos, alongside the former minister of communications Gabriel Sandu and the Piatra Neamt city mayor, Gheorghe Stefan, in preventive detention for 30 days. The decision is not binding, the four are still left with their chance to appeal.
Dorin Cocos, Gheorghe Stefan and Nicolae Dumitru were arrested on charges of influence peddling and money laundering, while Gabriel Sandu was charged with bribe taking and money laundering.
