Ialomita County Council president and hospital managers investigated for corruption

The prosecutors of the National Anti-corruption Department (DNA) yesterday conducted searches at the Ialomita County Council and Ialomita County Hospital, in a corruption case also targeting the President of Ialomita County Council, Silvian Ciuperca. According to Agerpres who quotes judicial sources, Ciuperca is under DNA investigation for approaching the head of Ialomita Public Finance Agency in the matter of the bankruptcy of the SC Ultex SA company in Tandarei, as well as the central structures of ANAF to keep the head of AJFP in position.
The prosecutors say that, apart from the Ialomita County Council president, managers from Ialomita County Hospital are also suspected of corruption. Accordint to the investigators, the former manager of Slobozia County Hospital, Vasile Olaru, directly purchased an IT management software the hospital already had, as well as an electronic prescription issuing software, although one was available from the National Health Insurance Authority free of charge.
DNA searched a total of 30 addresses in Bucharest as well as in Ialomita and Calarasi Counties, three of which are public institutions of local interest, the rest being company offices and home addresses of individual persons.
