Viorel Hrebenciuc, arrested for 30 days in illegal forest restitution case

Ex-PSD MP Viorel Hrebenciuc was remanded in custody for 30 days in the case of illegal forest restitution case, under a warrant issued by the Supreme Court. Hrebenciuc was detained by DNA Brasov on Tuesday, after he had been summoned to DNA Brasov on Tuesday morning, after the Chamber of Deputies had taken note of his resignation from Parliament on Monday.
Hrebenciuc is under investigation for setting up an organised criminal group, influence peddling and instigation to the use of influence by a person who holds a lead office in a political party for obtaining inducements for oneself or for others. His son, Andrei Hrebenciuc, was also arrested for 30 days on 24 October in the same case.
Viorel Hrebenciuc, who has been charged in a different case with the offence of using information not meant for publicity or granting unauthorised access to persons to such information, influence peddling, use of influence for obtaining inducements and purchasing influence.
