A sailor who has returned from Africa is suspected of being infected with the Ebola virus and has been brought from Constanta to the Matei Bals Hospital in Bucharest. The man, who worked on an offshore oil platform in Nigeria, called the ambulance complaining of fever and bleeding. The man went to a hospital in Constanta, from where he was taken to the Matei Bals hospital. The doctors will establish whether he is infected with Ebola or not. “Since he came from Nigeria the hypothesis is also that he could have Ebola. It is, however, very unlikely for that to be the case, since Nigeria has been declared by the World Health Organization a country free of Ebola,” Matei Bals Hospital manager Adrian Streinu Cercel stated.
