INS: Unemploiment rate was estimated in September 2014 at 6.9 per cent

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was estimated in September 2014 at 6.9 per cent, down from the previous month by 0.2 percentage points, show the provisional data released on Friday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The number of the unemployed aged 15 to 74 is estimated at 637,000 people for September, down by 17,000 people compared to August, when as many as 654,000 jobless people were recorded.
By gender, men’s unemployment rate exceeds by 1.6 percentage points that of women’s, the values being 7.6 per cent for men and 6 per cent for women.
For adults (aged 25 to 74), the unemployment rate was estimated at 5.6 per cent for September 2014 (6.2 per cent in the case of men and 4.9 per cent for women).
The number of out-of-work people aged 25 to 74 represents 75.6 per cent of the total number of the unemployed estimated for September 2014.
