Minimum salary to amount to RON 1,200 in 2016

Minister of Labour, Family, Social Protection and the Elderly, Rovana Plumb, vice president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), told a press conference on Friday in Alba Iulia (north-west of Bucharest) that the minimum salary will amount to RON 1,200  (about 285 euros) in 2016.
Rovana Plumb said that the minimum salary will increase, as of Jan. 2015, from 900 to 975 lei, and as of July 1, to RON 1,050 lei, so as to surge to RON 1,200  in 2016.
The Labour Minister, who met on Friday with a group of retirees from Alba Iulia and visited a ready-made garments factory with 300 female employees, also said that the project aimed at increasing the minimum salary is stipulated by a Government resolution.
