Best gospel choir to perform in Bucharest for the holidays

The SpectacolArt Cultural Association presents on December 10, 2014, at 20:00, at the Patria Cinema Hall in Bucharest (10 – 12th Gheorghe Magheru Boulevard) the extraordinary gospel music performance “Celebrate Christmas” by  Dexter Walker & Zion Movement, the winner of the Best Gospel Choir Category at the Stelar Awards 2014.

Founded in Chicago, in 2003, by reverend Dexter Walker, Zion Movement is an ensemble of 35 artists who proved that a gospel choir can become one of the most appreciated and demanded group on the international music stage.

Their arrangements are genuine melting pots of energy, and their innovative performing manner leads to a warm and friendly environment that has no comparison on the gospel music scene.

After many years of experience as a performer of this genre, Dexter Walker reinvented the emotional connection between the choir and the public, also creating new harmonies to preserve music form in Christian hymns.

The intention that leads each music choice by Dexter Walker and Zion Movement is the conviction that music may embody much more than mere words and notes, thus becoming a force that is capable of involving and encouraging every listener, thus, becoming a valuable source of inspiration for all audiences.

Gospel or evangelic song has a longer history than blues and jazz. This genre of music is a modern version of the Negro spiritual repertory. We can also talk about a parallel evolution of the minstrel music (focused on entertainment) and of the negro spiritual (defined by religious content), although, technically speaking, the basic structures of these genres are common, as both of them belong to the Afro-American music inheritance.

The concert prepared for the Romanian audience presents a mixed playlist, including Christmas carols and traditional Christian songs, presented in a procession that is typical for this genre and results in an ocean of reinforcing energy.

The event is organized by SpectacolArt Cultural Association, in partnership with Pro Music International, Sfera Decor and the media partners Magic FM, AutoExpert/YachtExpert Magazine, Bucharest Night Life, iConcert.ro, infomusic.ro, 9AM.ro,  4arte.ro, Blitz TV, Bucharestherald.com, Business Woman, Clinic TV, Calendarevenimente.ro, Ziare.com, Newsup.ro, Oops Media, Ziarul Ring, Salon TV, Romania TV, ROL.ro, TV CITY Bucharest and Yuppy.ro.
