Romania comes out of technical recession

The European Commission informs that Romania’s GDP has risen by 1 per cent in Q3 compared to the previous quarter, which means that the country has come out of the technical recession it entered halfway through the year.
For the last three months of the year the Commission forecasts an economic growth of 1.6 per cent compared to July-September, the European Commission’s autumn report on EU economic forecasts shows.
Compared to the same period last year, the GDP growth will represent 1.1 per cent in Q3 and 1.6 per cent in Q4.
The National Statistics Institute will publish next week its estimate on the GDP’s evolution in the third quarter.
