Stradivarius and Guarneri are attending a duel again in Romania

A new duel will occur again, featuring the Stradivarius and Guarneri violins, played by violinist rivals Liviu Prunaru and Gabriel Croitoru, ìarbitratedî by pianist Horia Mihail.
The sound and harmony confrontation of the two musicians will take place in two stages, one taking place now, until November 7, and the second during December 10 – 19.
Today, the two artists will step on the stage in Ramnicu Valcea, starting at 7:00 PM, in the Philharmonic Hall, and a recital will be held tomorrow, on November 6, starting at 7:00 PM and followed by a concert tomorrow, on November 7, starting at the same hour, both in the Capitol Hall in Timisoara.
The route for part two, in December, will be as following: a concert with orchestra, in Bucharest, at the Radio Hall, on December 10, at 7:00 PM, a recital at the Radio Hall in Bucharest, on December 11, at 7:00 PM, in Targu Mures, at the UMF Aula, on December 12, at 7:00 PM, at the Ionel Floasiu Cultural Palace in Campia Turzii, on December 13, at 7:00 PM, at the Culture House in Roman, on December 14, at 7:00 PM, in ìMarcel Guguianuî Pavilion in Barlad, on December 15, at 7:00 PM and in the Philharmonic Hall in Pitesti on December 19, starting at 7:00 PM.
The repertoire includes works by Sergei Rachmaninov, Niccolo Paganini, Ernest Bloch, Franz Schubert / Jascha Heifetz, Camille Saint-Saens, Frederic Chopin, Henryk Wieniawski, J. S. Bach and Astor Piazzolla / Mariano Castro.
The project was produced by the Radio Romania Media Cultural Centre and by the Accendo Cultural Association.
