Ex-Deputy Mayor and local councilor of Bacau, Lucian Lucas, and the former head of the Cadastre and Land Stock Department in the Bacau Municipality, Vasile Ifrim, were yesterday sentenced by the Supreme Court to four years in prison each for accessory to bribe-taking. The decision was made by the judges of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) in the case where the two, as well as ex-Bacau Mayor Dumitru Sechelariu, were on trial for corruption. The Court decided to terminate criminal proceedings against Sechelariu given his death on 16 February 2013.
