Kaufland now has 100 hypermarkets in Romania

Kaufland Romania has opened on Thursday its 9th hypermarket in Bucharest, located in Drumul Taberei neighborhood. This is its 100th hypermarket at national level, the retailer informs.
Since the start of the year the retailer has also opened hypermarkets in Arad, Targu Mures, Oradea, Targoviste, Bucharest and Gherla.
Kaufland Romania has so far directly created 12,700 jobs, at its central headquarters in Bucharest, at the stores opened, but also at the logistics centers located in the Ploiesti Industrial Park and Turda.  Kaufland is the biggest retailer in Romania sales-wise, surpassing Metro Cash&Carry, Auchan and Carrefour.  The retailer opened its first store in Romania in 2005 and is part of Germany’s Lidl & Scwartz group which also operates the Lidl discount network in Romania.
