Gas imports, down 65.5pct, in first nine months of 2014

Romania imported, in the first nine months of this year, usable natural gas of 334,100 tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), down by 65.5pct (633,300 toe) from the similar period of 2013, according to the data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The domestic natural gas production totaled, from January to September 2014, over 6.462 million toe, by 38,800 toe (0.6pct) higher compared to that reported in the first nine months of last year. Romania’s proven reserves of natural amounted, at end-2013, at 100 billion cubic meters, the same level as that recorded at end-2012, and these represented 0.1pct of the world’s reserves, according to British Petroleum’s centralized data.
