Romania will ask the European Commission to reimburse more than 200 million euros under the Sectoral Operational Programme for Human Resources Development (SOPHRD), the Ministry of European Funds (MFE) informed in a release on Sunday.
Romania will send next week payment applications currently under verification at the Certification and Payment Authority (CPA), which forwards the necessary documents to the EC, the document mentions.
The SOPHRD Management Authority, directly subordinate to the MFE, has already sent the respective expenditure statements to the CPA.
‘Until the end of 2014, Romania will send to the European Commission other payment applications amounting to 500 million euros, which would lead the total reimbursement demands under SOPHRD to 700 million lei for the year. We mention that the European Commission audit in the first half of October has concluded with positive results, and Romania authorities got the green light to ask the reimbursement of eligible expenditure under SOPHRD,’ the Minister of European Funds Eugen Teodorovici declared.
