Senate Speaker, Calin Popescu –Tariceanu, PLR leader, announced Monday that USL recovery protocol will be signed by PSD and PLR, and the other parties components of the USL, this week, before the second round of presidential elections.
Asked Monday if he sees possible the signing of a protocol for restoring USL, Tariceanu has said “yes”. He pointed out that it is not about a “symbolic” remake”, but about one “substance one”. PLR leader admitted however that the overlap between USL and the new political project will not be “perfect”. “Of course we can not put new project in a perfect overlay over the old one. But what’s important is that we will have again a political construction in which PSD and PLR be represented,” said Tariceanu, who noted that other other USL configurations will be part and sign the recovery protocol. Asked to comment on the fact that PLR is not officially recognized, he replied: “There are two things to be separated: on the one hand we have the idea and the political construction, political construction that is sure to receive a legal cloak. They are not conditional, but what prevails is the political action”.
Asked when this protocol will be signed, Tariceanu said: “Most probably this week, in the days before the presidential runoff.” Asked, on the other hand, if PLR “enters the government, he replied: “There are not necessarily related things, there is no compliance in this regard.”
