According to National Statistics Institute (INS) data, in October 2014 the consumer price index (CPI) grew by 0.19 per cent month-on-month. According to the data, in October foodstuffs registered a price hike of 0.6 per cent, while services registered a price hike of 0.2 per cent. On the other hand, the prices of non-foodstuffs dropped by 0.1 per cent.
The overall average price hike registered in the last 12 months (November 2013 – October 2014) stood at 1.2 per cent year-on-year (compared to November 2012 – October 2013 period) when determined on the basis of the CPI, and at 1.4 per cent when determined on the basis of the harmonized consumer price index.
