Another chance to see “Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest”

At the demand of the audience, six films on the agenda of “Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest” will have additional screenings at “Elvira Popescu” Cinema, during November 13 – 16. The viewers may see again the films “Winter Sleep”, “Leviathan”, “The Tribe”, “Maidan”, “Bridges of Sarajevo” and “La Jaula de Oro”.
According to organizers, over 14,000 viewers have attended the fifth edition of the festival “Les Films de Cannes a Bucharest” (October 24 – 30), a record number for the five-year history of the festival.
Numerous films on the agenda were sold out a few days before the screening. Almost half of the total number of tickets was purchased before the beginning of the festival. The viewers had the opportunity to see approximately 30 titles that had their world premiere in May, at the Cannes Film Festival. Among them, there were films that won the greatest distinctions: Palme d’Or, The Grand Prize, prizes for directing, screenplay and acting. The special guests of the edition were actresses Jacqueline Bisset and Berenice Bejo, directors Michel Hazanavicius, Bertrand Tavernier, Sergei Loznitsa and Radu Mihaileanu.
The fifth edition of the festival “Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest” was organized by  Cinemascop Association, in partnership with the French Institute in Bucharest, with the support of the National Centre of Cinematography, the Ministry of Culture, the Mayoralty of District I and of the Romanian Cultural Institute. The tickets for the screenings of November 13 – 16 may be purchased online, on www.eventbook.ro, and at the box office of the Elvira Popescu Cinema.
