Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania registers profit of EUR 3 M in first 9 months

Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo Bank has registered in Romania in the first nine months a net profit of EUR 3 M, after registering losses of EUR 3 M in the same period last year, according to the data published by the financial institution on Tuesday.
Operational revenues have dropped by 10.9 per cent to EUR 32 M, while operational costs have dropped by 5.1 per cent to EUR 21 M. At the end of the first nine months Intesa Sanpaolo had on the local market a loans portfolio of EUR 700 M, of which good loans represented EUR 600 M. At the end of 2013 the Italian bank had in Romania a loans balance of EUR 800 M. Its deposits portfolio totaled EUR 700 M at the end of September, a level similar to the one registered in December 2013.
On 30 September, Intesa Sanpaolo had on the Romanian market assets worth EUR 1.1 bln, down from the EUR 1.2 bln registered at the end of last year.
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group has been present in Romania since 2008. At group level Intesa Sanpaolo’s net profit has risen threefold, to EUR 1.6 bln, excluding exceptional elements.
