Romania has best landline internet access infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe

Romania has the best landline internet access infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe, which will allow advanced cloud services, the results of an annual report authored by a relevant company shows.
The report shows that at global level half of the planet’s population will have internet access at home by 2018, and 53 per cent of the population will use cloud data storage solutions. According to the report, Romania has the best landline internet access in Central and Eastern Europe, which will allow advanced cloud services.
In what concerns the data centers’ total traffic, it is estimated that the data centers’ global traffic will grow almost threefold, from 3.1 zettabytes (one zettabyte represents the equivalent of one trillion gigabytes) in 2013 to 8.6 zettabytes in 2018 – an annual growth rate of 23 per cent, the Cisco Global Cloud Index (2013-2018) report published on Thursday shows. Global cloud traffic registers bigger growth than that of data center traffic. Thus, after cloud represented 54 per cent of total data center traffic in 2013, by 2018 it will hold an estimated share of 76 per cent. According to the report, in 2014 the best performing landline networks are found in states such as: South Korea, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania, Singapore, Sweden and Taiwan. Likewise, the countries with the best performing mobile networks this year are: Australia, Belgium, China, South Korea, Denmark, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Oman, Qatar and Uruguay. The annual report published by the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) shows that in Romania the total number of broadband internet access connections through landline points had reached 3.8 million in 2013, up by 7 per cent year-on-year, and 60 per cent of the physical persons’ landline internet subscriptions allow for data transfer speeds of at least 30 Mbps.
