Decision in Klaus Iohannis’ incompatibility case postponed

Klaus Iohannis’ incompatibility case was postponed by the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) two days after the Sibiu mayor had won the presidential election. The High Court did not set a new hearings date.
The term on Tuesday was the first in this case after, on 30 September, ICCJ had agreed in principle to hear the appeal introduced by the National Integrity Agency against the decision of Alba Iulia Court of Appeal, who had ruled in Klaus Iohannis’ favour.
The supreme court is expected to decide whether it cancels ANI’s report or if the mayor of Sibiu broke the law and was in a situation of incompatibility when he represented the city of Sibiu on the general assemblies of shareholders of the Water, Sewerage and Markets companies.
