French President, Francois Hollande, congratulated Klaus Iohannis for winning the presidential election, in a letter that was handed him by the French Ambassador to Bucharest, Francois Saint-Paul.
President-elect Klaus Iohannis had a meeting on Wednesday morning with the French Ambassador to Bucharest who handed him the congratulatory message by President of France. “On the occasion of your election as President of Romania, I am pleased to address my sincere congratulations and my best wishes for success in your high performance mission. Romania and France are linked by an old and strong friendship, that I want to develop further. Through his membership to the Francophone movement, Romania shares with France the attachment for a world that respects diversity, particularly cultural and linguistic, whose symbol is also your victory, that I welcome, “reads the letter signed by Francois Hollande, obtained by Mediafax. “In our countries, as in other European Union member states, our fellow citizens expect from us to give new impetus to the European project.
