The draft 2015 budget will be finalized by Friday and will enter the Parliament’s debate after December 10, Budget Minister Darius Valcov announced on Monday. “On Friday we will have the finalized budget. From December 2 to December 10 we will put this budget up for debate and we will probably introduce it in Parliament on December 10, after the IMF and EC representatives leave. I would badly want to finalize it by the end of the Parliamentary sitting, namely somewhere around December 19, and I believe we could adopt it by then,” the Budget Minister stated in Parliament, pointing out that he is sure the opposition MPs will vote for the document.
Darius Valcov added that the top priority will consist of European funds and that extra fiscal relaxation measures are being considered, measures such as lowering the VAT. “We are thinking about extra fiscal relaxation measures, but I cannot reveal them until Friday. The Premier will reveal them. We can also think about lowering the VAT. (…) Following the negotiations and discussions that we will have with the IMF, that will be possible for certain products, but it’s also possible to consider it in general,” the Budget Minister added.
