Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko congratulated Klaus Iohannis for his victory in the presidential elections in Romania and invited him to visit Kiev, thanking him for the support granted to Ukraine, Interfax Ukraine news agency reported on its website on Tuesday. In a telephone conversation with President-elect of Romania, “Petro Poroshenko congratulated Klaus Iohannis for his victory in the presidential elections and thanked him for his strong support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine” announced the presidential press service from Kiev on Monday evening. Poroshenko also expressed hope that good neighborly relations with Romania will be developed and that Bucharest will continue to support Ukraine. “Romania was the first country to ratify the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, and its support for our European integration aspirations is very important”, said Petro Poroshenko, inviting the new President of Romania to visit Ukraine. In turn, Iohannis thanked the Ukrainian president and assured him that he will support Ukraine in its European approach.
