Negotiations with Russian authorities over the right of Bucharest-Beijing flights to use Russian airspace have been postponed for January 2015, Transport Minister Ioan Rus stated. According to him, the talks with the Russian transport authorities were scheduled for November 2014, but they were postponed by the Russian side. Rus explained that Bucharest-Beijing flights need the permission to use Russia’s airspace for overflight. Ioan Rus pointed out that the Romanian and Chinese sides’ memorandum on launching these flights is signed, only Russia’s permission to use its airspace being needed.
