Unit 1 of the Cernavoda nuclear power plant was disconnected from the national energy grid on Wednesday because of problems with its classical part, Nuclearelectrica informs.
“Nuclearelectrica SA National Company informs that on December 3, 2014, as a result of problems that appeared at Cernavoda nuclear power plant’s Unit 1, it was conservatively decided to de-synchronize the turbo generator from the National Energy System, while maintaining the reactor on,” the communiqué informs.
According to Nuclearelectrica representatives, all systems acted appropriately, without affecting the security of the reactor, the plant’s personnel, the population and the environment.
After the problems are addressed Unit 1 will be reconnected to the National Energy System.
