* Overall, Romania’s wheat exports to Egypt surpass 900,000 tons
According to Agritechtrade, Egypt bought 120,000 tons of wheat from Romania at the start of December. The average price of this latest transaction was USD 271.50 per ton, approximately USD 25 cheaper than the offer made by the US and France. According to Agerpres, Egypt bought 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat from the Ameropa company, another 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat from the Bunge company and 55,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat from the Venus company. Egypt, the world’s biggest importer of wheat, frequently buys wheat from Romania. The previous purchase of this kind took place on September 22, when Egypt signed a contract for the purchase of 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat from Nidera company, at a price of USD 246.75 fob.
Egypt was registering a total of 780,000 tons imported from Romania on October 1, and imported another 120,000 tons on December 2.
