Unit 1 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plan (NPP) was reconnected to the national energy grid on Wednesday, at 11.21 p.m., the Nuclearelectrica National Company announced on Thursday.
Unit 1 was taken offline on Wednesday as a result of problems that appeared at the unit’s classical side, the reactor being kept operational the entire time.
The activities meant to remedy the problems and to reconnect the unit took place in line with the plant’s procedures and protection and security regulations, without any adverse effects on the population, personnel, installations and environment, the Nuclearelectrica representatives point out.
