World’s 6th biggest car part manufacturer to open factory in Valcea

Valcea County Prefect Dumitru Cornoiu said in 2015, the Faurecia Group would develop a factory on the Ostroveni industrial park, creating approximately 1,500 jobs. French automotive component manufacturer Faurecia (world’s 6th biggest) has been in Valcea since 2013 with a factory employing roughly 300 workers.

‘The factory is set to be built in 2015 and, from what I understood from the talks with the management, it might be inaugurated in the autumn. The area the Municipality will provide measures three hectares in the area of the Ostroveni industrial park. However, the most important thing to be noted is that this factory will bring 1,500 new jobs, a bulb of oxygen to the county labour market. The company is already present on the Valcea market, where it runs a factory with 300 employees’, Cornoiu noted.

Faurecia makes automotive components for Ford, Renault-Nissan, Peugeot, BMW, Daimler, General motors, Toyota and Hyundai. The French from Faurecia also have factories in Romania in Piteşti, Craiova and Tălmaciu, where they manufacture car seats, interior systems and emission control systems.
