EximBank inaugurated on Monday three units, in Baia Mare (north-west), Bistrita (centre) and Suceava (north-east), and has thus met its objective to operate, as of early 2015, a network of 20 units compared to 12 at end-2012.
‘For Eximbank, the situation in the past two years has represented a strategic challenge, doubled however by the need for fast and decisive action to capitalize on the extraordinary potential this bank has. EximBank has changed its business model and currently it is in a privileged position in terms of results and resources. Thus, whilst the banking system has ended the past years with a negative result, EximBank has kept its place in the rankings of profitable banks, a trend maintained also this year, according to the relevant estimates.
As the banking industry’s infrastructure has been under a wide restructuring process, EximBank is one of the few banks, if not the only one, which has expanded its commercial network,’ said EximBank President Traian Halalai.
The new units will target the companies in the counties of Bistrita Nasaud, Maramures, Suceava and Botosani, providing the full range of EximBank products and services – financing, guarantees, insurance, treasury products, cash management and trade finance.
The bank has recorded an accelerated boost in its activity, with EximBank’s portfolio of net loans, being, after the first nine months of this year, by 33% more than that recorded at end-2013.
The bank’s officials estimate that at this year’s end the bank will record new financing of approximately one billion lei.
