Romania’s capital city ranks 30th in the classification of cities preferred by international retailers, which is topped by London, followed by Paris, Moscow, Milan and Madrid, according to a study.
”The survey ‘Destination Europe 2015’ places Bucharest on the 30th spot among the most attractive cities in terms of international retailers, interest in expanding outside their home country. It is considered a city with great growth potential and it is ahead of other cities in the region, such as Bratislava, Zagreb, Belgrade and Ankara, and a short distance from Budapest”, says Carmen Ravon, Head of Retail Agency at JLL in Romania.
Bond Street in London (photo) is Europe’s most preferred place by luxury retailers, according to a new global index conducted by global company JLL. The index, launched in a new report titled ‘Destination Europe 2015,’ analyzes the expansion and presence of 250 international retailers on over 57 major commercial markets.
As for luxury brands, our country is on an honorable 25th place in terms of their interest to operate stores in Romania, says Carmen Ravon.
According to the survey, by taking into account the encouraging predictions related to the increase in sales in medium term in CEE, including Romania, the penetration of international brands has increased in the past two years, either these entered directly or through franchising.
