OMV Petrom (SNP) has signed an agreement with Energocom of R. Moldova to commence supplying natural gas to the neighbouring state through the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline on 1 January 2015, sources close to the talks told Mediafax.
‘The agreement was signed for one year. For a beginning, small quantities will be delivered’, the sources said.
Moldovan Economy Minister Andrian Candu is quoted in the R. Moldova media as saying that Energocom will pay 277 dollars/1, cubic metres, 100 dollars less than the price of 378 dollars the company buys the gas from Russian group Gazprom.
The Iaşi-Ungheni gas pipeline, completed this year, has a total length of 43 km and a yearly transport capacity of 1.5-2 bn cubic metres of natural gas.
