European Funds Ministry takes over Environment and Transports SOPs Management Authorities

The European Funds Ministry (MFE) will take over the activity and structures of the Management Authorities corresponding to the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment and the Sectoral Operational Programme Transports, according to the Emergency Ordinance for the approval of some measures meant to make more efficient the management system of the structural instruments, which was released in the Official Gazette on Monday, informs a press release of the institution quoted by Agerpres.

MFE thus takes over from the Environment and Climate Changes Ministry the activity and structure of the Management Authority for the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment and the Management Authority for the Sectoral Operational Programme Transports from the Transports Ministry. MFE will take over the personnel of the two Management Authorities, their rights and obligations, including the litigations corresponding to their activities.

The Sectoral Operational Programme Environment has a 4.41 billion euro financial allotment and the Sectoral Operational Programme Transports, 4.42 billion euros.

MFE is Management Authority for five programmes in the 2007-2013 programming period, SOP Transports, SOP Environment, SOP HRD, SOP IEC and the Technical Assistance Operational Programme.

In the 2014-2020 programming period, MFE is Management Authority for five programmes: the Great Infrastructure Operational Programme, the Human Capital Operational Programme, Competitiveness Operational Programme, the Technical Assistance Operational Programme and the Operational Programme for Helping Disadvantaged People. Of the five programmes directly coordinated by MFE, the European Commission has already approved three: the Operational Programme for Helping Disadvantaged People, the Competitiveness Operational Programme and the Technical Assistance Operational Programme. The other two programmes are going to be approved in 2015.
