Weather alert: Return of snowfalls, frost and black ice throughout Romania

The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) on Saturday issued a new meteorological warning of snowfalls, rain, black ice and frost. The new weather information will come into effect Saturday from 22.00, and is valid for almost all the counties, until the night of Sunday to Monday. The weather alert issued on Saturday informs about the snowfalls return in large areas of Romania .According to weather forecasters, the snowfalls will start on Saturday in the northwest, then their areas will expand and will include Maramures, Crisana, Transylvania, Moldavia. The snow will also be present locally in the Banat region. Meteorologist Viorica Dima told Romania TV that in the southern part of the country there will be mixed precipitations, that will favour the black ice formation, and then the snow will be present here too, but on small areas. The snowfalls will be reported primarily in the southeast Dobrogea and Muntenia.

“What holds our attention for the next interval is that the wind will increase in all regions. The gusts’ speed will exceed locally 50 km / hr, especially in southwest and in central regions. The snowfalls in the mountains will be quantitatively important on isolated areas and, temporarily, with blizzard, because the wind will blow here with more than 70-80 km / hr. The weather alert is valid from Saturday evening from 22.00 until Sunday night of Sunday to Monday, “said Viorica Dima in Romania TV.
