Romania’s National Weather Forecaster (ANM) has issued a countrywide bitter freeze and high wind advisory effective as of Tuesday afternoon till Friday morning. According to the cited source, the weather will get an arctic blast, with the hard freeze expected to bear down particularly in the nights and in the mornings. Temperature lows will frequently fall below -15 degrees Celsius and in spots will plunge even beneath – 25 degrees Celsius. Also, daytime highs will be mostly negative, standing generally between -10 and zero degrees Celsius. Today and tonight the wind will pick up in Moldavia and in the eastern half of Muntenia and Dobrogea, gusting to 55 – 65 kmph.
The weather will cool down significantly in Bucharest too, where there will be even -13 degrees Celsius.

The drop in temperatures and the return of snowfalls will bring a new layer of snow on the ski slopes. Currently the layer of snow measures 70 centimeters at Ceahlau Toaca, 48 cm at Paltinis, 56 cm at Semenic, 44 cm at Sinaia, 33 cm at Predeal and 21 cm at Stana de Vale.
