Microsoft contract: Ministry asks for suspension of payments in court

Informational Society Minister Sorin Grindeanu talked on B1TV about the government’s intentions in what concerns the Microsoft contracts.

“We didn’t denounce the contract with Microsoft, we demanded in court the suspension of payments until the situation is clarified. It’s a Buy Out contract from 2013 to 2015, it was a continuation of old contracts, RON 100 M are left to be paid. The judiciary should tell us whether we can continue with the two payments,” the minister stated.

“I do not fear the DNA, especially since I’ve been a minister for two weeks. We want to enter direct contact with Microsoft, not through more or less famous intermediaries. Some products were delivered and we want to know whether they are in line with the contract,” he added.

At first, sources familiar with the case stated that the government will attack the Microsoft contracts in court, the lawsuits concerning the 2013 supplementation of the contract initially signed in 2009 by the Communications Ministry and the Fujitsu System Computers and D Con Net AG intermediaries.
